Star Valley Wyoming – More Than Just A Home – It’s a Way of Life
Star Valley Wyoming at the western side of the state and is located in northern Lincoln County. This high Alpine Valley is about 12-miles wide (east-west) and 50-miles long (north-south). Nestled between the Salt River Mountain Range to the east and Idaho’s Webster Mountain Range to the west, the Valley is surrounded by Bridger-Teton, Targhee and Caribou National Forests.
This stretch of wilderness is an outdoor enthusiast’s dream truly offering something for everyone! Star Valley is the gateway to the Western Rockies offering a variety of attractions for the outdoorsman or adventurer.
Average temperatures in the summer range from around 40-degrees to the high-80s (Fahrenheit). Winter temperatures range from 0-degrees to 40-degrees (Fahrenheit) with occasional drops to 30-degrees below zero for short periods.
The cold, winter weather offers a beauty like no place on earth … including the opportunity to ski Jackson Hole’s world class ski slopes. Being surrounded by beautiful snow-covered mountains in the winter isn't the only reason people come to Wyoming.
With the arrival of the first winter snow, Star Valley, Jackson Hole and West Yellowstone turn into a winter wonderland, offering visitors snowshoeing and dog sled tours, cross country, downhill and skate skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling - there are hundreds of miles of groomed trails and snowmobiling through snow-covered terrain is an exciting experience - one that you'd likely never forget.
For a slower pace or romantic adventure, you can opt for a horse-drawn sleigh ride followed by a warm fire-lit dinner at one of several restaurants. And don’t be surprised if the person at the next table is a Hollywood Star, sports figure or Washington politician!

An hours drive to the north, Jackson Hole features over 40 art galleries, a new multi-million dollar Jackson Hole Center for the Arts, and several museums, including the National Museum of Wildlife Art. The Grand Teton Music Festival, considered the crown jewel of Jackson’s cultural scene, is a must-see for classical music fans. Recognized world-wide, Jackson Hole’s Fall Arts Festival combines stunning works on canvas with nature’s magnificent fall colors.
